Last week:

The BitterSweetShop was at the Hop in Leeds last Wednesday, I think it's a very under-rated open mic night that deserves a little more support. I've always enjoyed playing there!

Following on from this a fairly 'quiet' weekend with a trip to York Races on Friday night. Had a couple of winners so came out with more or less the same money I went in with. Blondie were on afterwards, as part of the music festival. I'm partly wishing I'd stayed for longer but after a few songs we decided it was time to get something to eat.

This week:

Atlanta Soul for me this Friday. A little lighter on the gig front meaning I should get more time to work in the studio as new releases creep ever nearer, plus a bit of practice time. I've also recently set up a page on Reverbnation so I'm attempting to get that working properly too.

Music:

I've done more listening in recent weeks than I have done for a long time. I listened to the new Feeling album and am currently on with Rumer. The Feeling are much maligned for being 'pop', a bit like the Michael MacIntyre of music....but they are good pop songs and I quite enjoyed it. Rumer is very very good, and very relaxing too. There is a big Carpenters influence, but it's got a lot of class, definetly one to listen to after a hard day.
